MEET THE OWNER

Mustard Seed is owned and operated by Angela Burkett, who received her Bachelor of Science Degree from Coppin State University in Interdisciplinary Studies with dual concentrations in Psychology and Business Management. She has completed Graduate Courses in Human Service Management and Behavior Modification from both University of Baltimore and McDaniel College.
Angela has served as a board member with the Howard County Family Child Care Association (HCFCCA) and served as their Director to Maryland State Family Child Care Association. She is currently a member of the Baltimore County Family Child Care Association (BCFCCA) where she provides professional development and guidance to her colleagues on affective lesson planning techniques.
Prior to launching Mustard Seed Daycare, Ms. Burkett was a Program Assistant for the Honors Program at the Earl G. Graves School of Business and Management at Morgan State University. Of all her various roles at this great institution, the most treasured and cherished were serving as a mentor and teacher to the students in the Business Honors Program. She greatly impacted positively on the success of the Graves Honors students and the Program as a whole. This passion for education, love of youth and the birth of her own daughter, Uchechi, led to establishing Mustard Seed Daycare LLC.
As a parent she understands the importance of an enrichment filled program that is quality rated catering to the developmental needs of children. Mustard Seed was born out of necessity to ensure that each child along with her own gets that first class care. Our goal is to enrich the lives of each individual child in our program by providing unparalleled early childhood education in a fun and safe environment while maintaining that personalized feeling!
Our vision is to be the premier Quality rated provider of early childhood education in the State of Maryland.

Mustard Seed’s mission is to provide a nurturing and stimulating early learning and childcare experience where love is our guiding principle to build the best foundation and promote the development of the whole child.

TESTIMONIALS
"My mom asked me what Bryant and I did to get him reading so well. And I didn't really have an answer. I mean we read to our kids on the regular but that's nothing special. Only thing I could think of was you."

I will be donating $3000 to your business when I receive my bonus in March 2021. This donation is for the children and for all of your hard work, love, and generosity.

"What can I say about Mustard Seed Daycare, from the very first meeting I knew my son would be in loving capable hands. The lessons my son received here has put him well above the other students at his current school. It's not just the lessons the children genuinely have fun here. It's been times when my son was having so much fun he didn't want to leave, LOL. I have referred friends and family to this establishment because I know they would love it. Just as my son and I have."
